First I would like to review the controls. Do you enjoy awesome quality
games that feel like they were meant to be in the palms of your hands? I
sure do, and that is how it feels when you are playing Grand Theft Auto:
Liberty City Stories for the Playstation Portable. I feel that the controls
of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories are generally easy to pick up and
learn, though the fact that you have to choose between the analog stick and
directional buttons is lame. If you are uncomfortable with the controls,
then you are able to customize them to your liking. Also, I would like to
make a point that the camera angle on this game is not a problem at all. It
makes the game feel more like the PS2 version.
In this game you
play as Toni Cipriani, who starts off as kind of a nobody but he works his
way up as he kills gang members, destroys buildings, steals vehicles, faces
drugs, commits assassinations, and does many other missions which involve
lots of action and hours of fun. This game is very open. You don?t have to
do all the missions at once. You may choose to do a mission then run around
the city and kill people then do a mission, or you can just follow the
catchy storyline. What is so awesome about this game is once you beat the
story mode; you don?t just put it back in the case and wait for new games
to come out. Instead there are plenty of side missions to do such as taxi
driving, police missions, Avenging Angel missions (you will find out what
these are once you buy the game), car salesman missions, bike salesman
missions, and many more!
Did I mention there is multiplayer?
This is perhaps one of the best features of this game. Unfortunately the
multiplayer is only ad-hoc and not infrastructure, but the fun factor makes
up for all of that. There are many different types of multiplayer modes
such as: "Get Stretch", where you have to try and get a limo which is
acting like a flag in 'capture the flag' or "Tanks for the Memories" where
you must keep a tank, using it like a king of the hill type object. There
are many more multiplayer games, that will keep you busy for hours on end,
if you know someone else with the game.
Now I will be talking
about the spectacular graphics in this game. This game looks just like it
would if it was being played on a PS2. The graphics are crystal clear and
the PSP?s screen just sweetens the deal by enhancing the visual display of
the game and making it brighter and even more amazing. Some parts of the
game have even better graphics then the PS2 such as the reflection of the
vehicles, and the faces of the characters you meet in the game.
If you like any action/shooting games at all then Grand Theft Auto:
Liberty City Stories is the perfect game for you. You will be amazed at how
awesome this game is. You have my vote to definitely buy this game. This IS
the PSP?s most killer game so far. It definitely shows the PSP's potential,
and I recommend this game to anyone, without a doubt.
